We updated this kitchen by painting the wood stained cabinets a fresh white, changing a deep red backsplash to a rich gray subway tile, and extending the island and adding waterfalls on either side. We chose a soft, elegant white quartz to replace the busy granite.
This close-up reveals the linen-like texture of the subway tile, adding an interesting twist on a classic. The variation in color also lends to the visual interest, really making it stand out as a special element.
These clients wanted something classic and timeless, but also with mid-century modern pieces to make it a bit fun. The kitchen table and chairs pair well with the bar stools. We brought in more warm walnut pieces in the family room with the matching consoles.
These clients wanted ample seating but also wanted to maintain good flow through the family room. We chose a sectional that could be separated in the middle but still feel complete. They can bring in the center piece for larger gatherings if they wish.
The walls flanking the fireplace had been painted red, but we brought in a soft grass cloth wallpaper to tone down the color but keep visual interest with great texture.
