These clients had a large, but dated kitchen when we started. We replaced every last item save the existing floors, which we lightened. They wanted to brighten up their kitchen, but didn’t want it to be all white, therefore we chose some moody elements. They were immediately drawn to this gorgeous, dramatic quartzite for their island. We added waterfall edges to showcase the beautiful stone even more, and paired it with dark gray cabinetry. They chose black counters on the perimeter, which balance the island. They took their textured granite counters a step further and finished them with a chiseled edge, adding incredible visual interest. They also chose a backsplash consisting of a variety of stones, including one similar to the island and others with different colors. As a final touch, we added island pendants and a chandelier over the table in a hand-forged dark metal. The final result: a truly handsome and unique kitchen!
